>Monica Rambeau

>Ava Ayala

>Spock

>Victor alvarez

>Black Sentry/Superman that most folks have never heard of

>everyone and their grandmother knows luke cage has fucked Shulkie in the past and we all know that it’s gonna be brought up awkwardly.

>two glasses of water in a pool of oil.

>fucking greg land

…….. save for Al Ewing writing, being the fact that i’ve read his work on 2000 AD,  i don’t think i want this at all.

i’m really not too keen on this team book. what do i mean by “two glasses of water in a pool of oil?

i’ll explain.

monica rambeau is the most bitter, jilted heroine i’ve seen in the marvel universe in quite awhile, and has been ever since she stepped down from being captain marvel to photon, to whatever her name may be now. i admit that she’s no pushover; she’s fucking tough and will back up everything she says. she also has amazing leadership skills because of her focus, but on a team, i don’t really see her meshing too well with anyone.

victor alvarez/power man has trained under iron fist since the end of shadowland and has proven himself to danny and cage on many occasions, but the main reason he’s not seen around often or teamed up with other heroes is mainly because he’s cocky and absurdly obnoxious; the kid can’t keep his anger in check to calmly assess a situation or shut his mouth long enough to stop writing checks his ass can’t cash. he’s even less likely to be on a team, mainly because he hates taking orders.

Ava Ayala is the original white tiger’s sister, and proud of it. because of that and many other things she will always be the proverbial straight-man to everyone. the quintessential abrasive overachieving goody two-shoes who does everything in the name of the advancement of the latino community, and will tell you as many times as you need to hear it. if you’ve seen her in the avengers academy or the ultimate spider-man series, you know she’s good on a team to a certain extent, but her penchant for snarky one-upsmanship and constant micro-managing of others capabilities in the field kinda doesn’t make her one for fluid teamwork. i can already see her clashing with victor, seeing as how he comes from an african american/ latino background and doesn’t look at hi self as any kinda role model for minorities.

i don’t get why they brought back this mystery ronin. donyell taylor just succeeded his brother as night thrasher; why not use him? he does everything ronin can do, plus he’s able to generate a kinetic contact based bio electric charge! nonetheless, because no one knows who he is, no one knows how he will affect the team, unless it’s actually eli young like it’s been rumored to be, which i can’t lie and say that wouldn’t be a bit awesome.

image

and what the fuck is the superior spider-man doing here? we all know spock works alone. i can’t even fathom someone as arrogant as him joining a team with less than a handful of people on the same intellectual level as he.

blue marvel, i know nothing of him so i will not speak of him. falcon however, i do know about and he’s so lame i chose not to speak of him.

Luke cage and She-hulk to me are the most level headed heroes on the team, and even though luke is happily married with a young daughter, because what happened between them years ago they get all weird around each other.

almost every member of the team is a either corrosive in a group scenario or too high on their own egos to actually band together and get the job done without stumbling all over each other. they’re like water and oil. it’s a team filled with live grenades and not many pins.

thus, two glasses of ice cold water amid a pool of crude oil.
